In a compendium size book, the author, with over 20 years experience and professional consulting and training activities in the negotiations terrain, extrapolates the importance of negotiations to everyday life. Not just initiating the reader to the practical strategy and tactics of negotiations, he more importantly guides the reader in structuring the final goal and how it can be fulfilled. He states, rather purposefully, "In life you do not get what you deserve; you get what you are able to negotiate!"

"… I greet with enthusiasm Dimitris remarkable effort to convey his valuable knowledge to a circle of people much wider than that of those attending training programs, which, by its nature, is quite limited. I have personally experienced how true it is that negotiation is a process that not only dominates the corporate and political domains, but is also an essential element in our daily contact with friends, relatives, acquaintances and people we meet for the first time. An effective negotiation leads to an ideal settlement of a dispute or an issue that arises between two parties, thus contributing to a better quality of life for all.

My pleasure is enhanced by the fact that the author has been a very close friend – more like a brother – for decades. We worked together in Greece, elsewhere in Europe, the United States and the Middle East. Most people who know Dimitris are aware of his meteoric rise first as a corporate executive and later as an internationally recognized business consultant and author. I enjoyed walking with him in dramatically different regions, times and cultural environments and seeing how when he noticed something – a situation – he could create from it something else with entirely new dimensions. Perhaps it is exactly what he is trying to do with this book, to relay to readers – learners – that the dimensions and issues we are faced with in life and business are never encumbered by limits, especially in negotiations.

Daily pressures render the reading of voluminous manuals unwieldy; the abridged form of Analecta, however, makes the book suitable for placing in a bag, on a desk or a nightstand for ready access to negotiating advice as needed."
